Earlier Diagnosis: Current
similar products for in vitro AMI diagnosis are based on
the detection of index molecules, such as Troponin T,
Troponin I, and CK-MB. Their detectable timing is when
AMI has occurred 6-8 hours. In comparison, the FABP kit
is only 3 hours.
¡¡
Higher
Specificity£ºAlthough Myoglobin is also competent for the
detection within 2 hour AMI occurrence, its
concentration in skeleton muscle is higher than in
myocardium£¨cardiac muscle£©and therefore the results are
not specific enough. The FABP kit is to test
HEART-SPECIFIC fatty acid binding protein (h-FABP). In
addition, the concentration of h-FABP in myocardium is
higher than in skeleton muscle, which makes the test
more specific.
¡¡
Higher Sensitivity£ºWithin
the first 3 hours of AMI occurrence, the increase of
concentration of the other index molecules mentioned
above is slow. In comparison, the concentration of h-FABP
increases sharply right after the beginning of AMI. In
fact, this product can be used as early as 30 minutes
after the starting of AMI. |
